An Instrument of Change?

Intention, just three syllables
But describes power and a force
Within this minor diatribe
Carries the intention of a course

The course creates deception
But for the good of all
Dislodging myths of old
About the end and mankind’s fall

Christians long asleep
Entertaining dire expectations
Put there by propagandists
Making money from it’s creations

Christians see this plan
As coming from the left
Turning from left to right
Cognitive dissonance resulting from the theft

A temporary bewilderment
As we wake to see our part
In the construction and destruction
Of a fiction from the start

Note: Something in what I’ve seen through some of the posts, prior to
writing this piece, made me think there might be a deception in the air.
That is, using my work as an implement or tool to turn left leaning
Christians from the left to the right.

3/26/21 Note: The poem alludes to the fact that our beliefs actually help
to create the structure that we experience. So, while it appears that the
left is the destructive force creating all the chaos, the right, who
believe that the world is coming to the predicted end, are actually
complicit in the chaos that is occurring because they have been convinced
through the Bible and the preacher. Because we chase after God as if there
is something separate and apart from us, we don’t hold ourselves
responsible for that which we witness and judge based on perceptual biases.

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
