Being at Peace
Preface: Someone from the Jehovah Witness Church in Louisiana reached out
during this Covid mess while providing words of concern for others, and
were also trying to expand their membership base. I sent this poem as a
response.
Miss Jones, if that’s your name
I appreciate your concern
But God’s the essence of my Being
Over time, I’ve come to learn
God’s my very breath
In width and breadth my Soul
The energy that moves my legs
World conditions take no toll
Never am I alone
Don’t look outside for Him
The gender label ‘think is odd
{At present brings a grin]
Humanity, philosophy, scholars
Thinkers, over-educated
Use ‘God’ as a conceptual choice
With lives ideologically dedicated.
Many make a living
Tax benefits to boot
Endorsing division all the while*1
Branding God for loot
With governmental oversight
Infringement on free speech
Where-as tax benefits removed
Political dissidents to teach
I find comfort in my God within
As God’s never let me down
Transformations taking place
Forces in a great ‘show down’
The Bible applies names to these
Forces of good and bad
But ascending beyond these labels
Is where we’re being led
A small group at the pinnacle
The one percent are called
Infiltrate as they’re able
Where-in our development gets stalled
Our attention gains their focus
Our focus is our force
The narrative of fear
Steals our energy in course
By knowing God lives in me
And protects the path I’m on
God moves in and through me constantly
Touching the world beyond
To live as if a victim
A victim will become
When you own the right to live
Your job is almost done.
Heraclitus back in history
Said change, the only thing*2
Each day will bring another
Ascension might bring.
The word ascension is construed
People going home to God
Need to die to rise again
Find the concept odd.
Ascension differs in my thoughts
God living within each Soul
Free of constructs fettering
That are cloaked with a selfish goal *3
To BE ‘’ or not to be
A question from history
Caught up in interpretation?*4
Or willing, at last to ‘BE’

*1 From time immemorial we see the myriad of institutions developed to
propagate their version of God. Within the development of each version is
the belief that that version is the correct version. This ‘idea’ of,
belief in, JUDGMENT of, is that which creates division.
*2 He actually said, “Change is the only constant.”
*3 We are direct descendants of God. The world we live in would attempt
to confuse us by creating a story or a narrative that requires our
allegiance.
*4 Are we stuck in the narrative or the interpretation that our society
and culture has created for us? Or, do we have a personal relationship
with God that passes human understanding?
