Brain versus mind

by | Mar 5, 2021 | Philosophy

The brain and mind two different things
Often spoken of as the same
The brain is gray and white
It’s the mind that knows your name

The brain has axons, glands and neurotransmitters
And sits atop the spine
The mind contains your mental life
Where the personality you’ll find

The question of metaphysics
Is the relationship of the two?
How does the brain produce phenomena?
That somehow comes out as you?

Consciousness, the hard question
That philosophy can’t find
Caught in the field of activity
And unscrambled by the mind

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
