Conscripted From the Start

Born into the world’s domain
Conscripted from the start
A name with background meaning
Born of the parents heart

‘He’ or ‘she,’ so very cute
The spells each will cast
In languaging the dictims
That seem forever last

‘A.D.D.’, a deficiency …
An open-mind rebuked
Ever busy with the figits …
Degrading energy coming through

Guilty in our ignorance
Excuse the law denies
A shift, a change perceptually
Wherein the ‘NOW’s’ revived

Note: I always find it interesting to read my own work and wonder what I
meant. I think in this case, it’s saying that having an open mind is not a
bad thing but we name it ADD

[ Attention Deficit Disorder] which carries with it a perceptual bias. As
far as the “Excuse the law denies” not sure where I was pointing there. I
suppose it references it in legal terms making special classes available.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
