Unions, reunions
Like elements under pressure (*1)
Heat, pressure at nature’s hand
Designing hidden treasure
A marriage with two people
Drawn together for a time
Like water on a single point
Provides a rocks redesign
In time a mind grows weary
Convictions lead the way
Judgments turn love to hate
Ending in a final day
Coming out the other end
As the march of time is so
Witnessing years gone by
Seems there’s so much more to know

(*1) Referencing the growth of crystals and mineral formations found hidden
in the earth that have gone through the process of heat and pressure to
become as beautiful as they are.
As the poem proceeds it moves out of the field of material elements as in
crystals and moves to the human domain. As people, men and women we get
drawn into the orbit of others. Sometimes we just have to be able to
confront stuff in ourselves and the other person becomes the mirror for us
to do that. Sometimes the martyr in us causes us to draw others to us that
need to be defined, lifted up spiritually or vice-versa. Then one day, it
all becomes too clear and our spiritual self says enough!
Therein we experience the pull of spirit against conventionality. It’s all
about learning, transforming, ascending.
