Evolution or Devolution

by | Mar 22, 2021 | Philosophy

Duality, polarity, two important terms
But, a psychological divide
Promoted from an earlier historical age
That limited intellect provides

Energy is energy
That Reality freely gives
But, in a culture built on selfishness
Division puts it in a twist

Humanities nascent development
Elemental at the start
Man fighting with the elements
From survival learned their part

Lions, tigers, dinosaurs
Predators on the hunt
Solidified a common will
That mankind needed to confront

But as the population grew
In land masses across the earth
Communication shifted and changed
Providing competitions birth

Buried beneath the ego mind
Spirit hungering for its Source
The impetus for definition
Myths developed in life’s course

Countries grew and developed
Languages just the same
Management in each was needed
Is how governments became

Survival in the jungle
Where development was void
Gave intellect a platform
Thus, competition was employed

Competition offered opportunity
Pitted one against the other
Narcissism and victimization
Pitted brother against his brother

The common thread of Spirit
Lost in this translation
Wealth as a motivator
Gave birth to separate nations

A hierarchy rose its head
Available for all to see
Nations unified through marriage
We lost part of our right to be

Money, wealth and opulence
Grew as time went on
Resulting in a one percent
Who now want to move beyond

Thirteen families have arisen
With a formula to impose
A consolidated effort
With a single theme composed

Science and technology
Providing intellect a hand
A-I up and coming
Eliminates the need of man

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
