How to publish your poetry
Step 1. Address the email to your robot
Using your email account compose an email addressed to your Poetry Publishing Robot
EXAMPLE
Email Address:
________________@poetrymakesitso.com
Step 2. Set the CATEGORY in the subject line
In the subject of your email, include the category of the poem that you will be posting. Surround the category name in square brackets. i.e. [Your Category Here]. Make sure you only include one category and that you spell it correctly.
If you want more info on CATEGORIES or a list of the ones you are using click here.
EXAMPLE
Email Subject:
[Your Category]
Step 3. Set your post TITLE in the subject line after your category
Following the category in brackets write what you want the posts title to be. Don’t include any extra text as everything outside the brackets will be included in your posts title. The following is an example of the proper syntax.
EXAMPLE
Email Subject:
[Your Category] Your Post Title
Step 4. Paste your poems text in the message area.
Type out or paste the text for your poem into the message box of your email.
You can theoretically have it as long as you want. I will leave it to you to try to test those limits.
EXAMPLE
Email Message:
Parents bring us to the world
Sometimes siblings are attached
Spirits need an entry point
We may or may not match
Experience plays a major role
As the ego grows its roots
Friends, family, community
Provided old familiar ‘truth’
But, the world, it keeps on turning
Changes occurring over time
Adaptation or obsession
In a revolving paradigm
3/9/14
Step 5. Scrub the formatting from your text and add line breaks
Highlight all the text in your message box (ctrl + a) and remove Microsoft Words formatting by pressing the T with a strike through it pictured below. You will then need to add or remove line breaks between lines. This is your change to have lines of a stanza right next to each other and and extra line break in between (enter key) between each stanza (also in the image below).

Step 6. (optional) Tag your poem
At the bottom of your message area you can include tags by typing “tags:” followed by a list of tags separated by comas. If you want more info on TAGS I will include it below.
Again, don’t include anything other than the text you want included in your post and the list of tags.
EXAMPLE

tags: Your Tag, Second Tag, Third, Fourth
Step 7. Review and send it
Things can be uploaded after they are published but you should strive to have it right the first time always 😀 When you have it right, review your email and send it.

All About Tags and Categories
Categories
You can use categories to sort and group your poetry posts into different sections. For example, your poetry could be filed using categories like Spiritual, Financial, Political, Family, or Weather.
Categories help visitors quickly know what topics your poetry about and allows them to navigate the poems faster. Poems are mandatory for a post and the default category is “Uncategorized”.
Here is a list of all the current categories on your site, if you would like more let me know:
Tags
Tags are the second tool you can use to group your poetry, based on similar details.
The main distinction between categories and tags is the size of the topic they cover. Categories group broad topics of your poetry while tags describe a specific detail in the poem.
You can add any tag to your poetry and it will automatically add them to this list. You don’t have to only use the tags listed here:
Why they are important
When a visitor clicks a particular category or tag it will open an archive page with all the poems that have the same category or tag. As your library of poems here grows this will be essential to help people find more of the stuff they find them selves gravitating towards.
