It’s the Thought That Counts

by | Mar 5, 2021 | Philosophy

Christmas is a time
To acknowledge friends and family
To show love, respect, appreciation
To those we sometimes seldom see

Tradition has us baring gifts
As an action we all take
But this year’s a little different
Cause of funds I didn’t make

Yet still the urge to demonstrate
The impulse in my heart
For the presence that you represent
And have from the very start

‘It’s the thought’ they tell us
The thought’ they say ‘that counts’
So it’s a ‘thought’ I’m sending
That didn’t cost a large amount

Not just a card in passing
But has a magnet there attached
Hang it on your ‘frigerator’
It will be a ‘thought’ unmatched

Merry Christmas is the message
Thanks for being in my life
The message behind the ‘thought’
Your Presence, a delight!

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
