Language Development

Language, we came by it
Somewhere along the way
In order to bridge the gap
That separation seemed to play

A mother, from her baby
As nature would allow
The child without distinction
That it was not the mom, somehow

As childhood sheds its playthings
With Aristotle at our head *(1)
A left brain world was birthed
Which resonates our dread *(2)

Momma birds help feed their young
Pre-digesting what they eat
This is how we teach our kids
Lamenting our defeat

Yet, free-will allowed for differences
That our ego could not sustain
Explanation and discernment
Helped to ease the strain

Footnotes:

*(1) The method used in schools is Aristotelian. We feed students facts
and want them to burp them back up. Critical thinking went out with
Socrates. Critical thinking is dangerous for the elite, the one percent.
It’s reserved for the think-tanks which are probably responsible for most
of what passes for laws.

*(2) The world stifled by a method that doesn’t allow for the development
of the ‘Self’, myopic views, posing as tradition, get perpetuated.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
