Love is a power
In the world, a force
It’s God in glad clothing
Moving mountains in course
It appreciates its’ intended{*l}
Adds value in time
Sought after with passion
Its’ power to bind
Those who receive it
Indeed lifted up
Don’t always realize
From where it is they ‘sup'{*2}
Love oft’ unattended
Loses its’ fire
New sources sought after
As its’ power expires
{*1) The word I originally used was ‘target’ instead of intended; meaning
whatever we focus our attention on. The word ‘appreciates’ means to
increase in value.
It might be a piece of jewelry or a painting. We invest our energy in
things, even inanimate objects. In terms of love as with people, we gain a
sense of well-being as the result of being loved or being in love.
{*2) ‘sup’ I’m using the word to indicate supper as in consume. Love is an
energy and when we feel it, we feel energized. But the person being loved
may not realize their sense of well-being is enhanced by someone else.
