Nine Months and Counting

by | Mar 24, 2021 | Philosophy

Humans are so complex
From the cradle to the grave
Full of competing ideologies
That we cherish, share and save

We hunger for companionship
Other people as resource
Discovering we’re full of crap
Given our current course

Every culture has the answer
To deal with the malaise
Sweat lodges or just mantras
Put us on a different page

You perceive that it’s bonding
That’s a basic human need
But others have not arrived
To what it is you see

To project ‘this’ as a need
Says that ‘what is’ isn’t right
Our very own innate nature (*1)
Denies day will follow night

If in the vast arena
With all the ‘givens’ we believe
To push our will or vision
May cause others to retreat

Nine months is the given time
It takes us to come through
Others must perceive a need
Before their process will review

Allow others to be themselves
And love you for who you are
Love is like an aphrodisiac
You’ll be a magnet and a star

Center your thoughts within
Your Spirit Guides are calling
Be a magnet to attract
Don’t chase or lest you fall

(*1) The resistance to any given situation reinforces the situation we’re
resistant to. To accept things as they are and allow others to ‘catch’
your vision allows them their free will.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
