One Plus One is One

Marriage, a two-edged sword
A hammer and a nail
A contract brought to law
That legal status helps prevail

In our search and drive for meaning
Turbulence becomes a storm
Pushed and pulled energetically
‘Til settling at last for norm

Independence gives way to compromise
Settling in for ‘what’s best’
Two as one in cultures eyes
That life’s conditions test

Children of this random set
Status and a name
Walking amongst the chosen
All seen as rather sane

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
