Passing Through

by | Mar 23, 2021 | Personal

Life lessons and development
A long, rocky road
Decisions of circumstance
A heavy ol’ load

The man I called ‘husband
For twenty-three years passed
A sense of loss and joy (*1)
For the shadows once cast (*2)

Tough, strong, vulnerable
Too proud to be wrong
Three daughters resilient
Came through and belonged

Great sadness in his passing
But at last we all must do
A Spiritual-human continuum
Just lessons to get through

Footnotes:

(*1) Not in his passing, but experienced through our marriage.

(*2) We get what we need in life, in order to learn what we need to learn.
I am who I am as a result of our time together. The world is a different
world as well.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
