Referential Field

The referential field
Is but a field of reference
Doctors study medicine
‘the Field of Medicine’ then hence

The things we grow to learn
Becomes a referential point of view
When one plus one accepts it
Reality is renewed

Quantum mechanics as a science
Has earned its reputation
Our careless use has given us
A state of conflagration

Our innocence and ignorance
Has got us in a stew
Some out there unknown to us
Observe what we chose to do

Facebook’s all a glow
About our coming to an end
Embraced by some religionists
Viewing it a friend

Each book inside the collective whole
Was written over time
But like a cold case murder
No access to the killer’s mind

It’s the fear to stand alone
In each moment born anew
That forces us to the darkness
Of the history on review

The morphic field of history
Casts a certain spell
Twenty-twenty in the mirror
As so many quickly tell

The heart and soul hunger
For a new and better future
With prayer and supplication
And desire long thought as pure

Yet, resistance to the here and now
And complaints that daily come
Help to fuel the chaos
With the absence of a gun

We’ve been taught of separation
And the need to turn the cheek
Our knees are bruised and bloody
As its forgiveness that we seek

Yet forgiveness is the very thing
Another we deny
As we strengthen our convictions
And pass judgment by and by

Changing gears, a moment
To reflect on things, we face
Cancer, immune deficiency, Alzheimer’s
Three reflected in our race

What if these manifestations
Tell us where we are
In search of something else
Yet looking much too far

Perhaps just natures method
Reducing ballast born through time
To bring forth that paradise
And a brand-new paradigm

Note: That last stanza is a killer. It is suggesting that when we use our
energy incorrectly we inadvertently kill ourselves; but that helps to clear
the runway so that we can reach that paradise that we all want to live in.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
