Self Extermination

The impetus for this poem was the Presidential election

The subject turns to budget
What will the US spend?
The GOP has its proposal
The Dems have nothing to defend

In light of social candidates
Democrats meager of voice
Give-a-ways costing a future
Of generations without a choice

The Green New Deal, gutting fossil fuels
Banning airplanes, cars and the like
A fiction written by few
The elite, third world war strike

Dismantling the United States
Extinguishing a dreamers-delight
A war between the uber rich
And the relegated middle-class right

To quell the middle-class numbers
The elite developed a plan
A virus and inoculations
Fear porn and bacteria in hand

What’s missing in the analysis
Continuity, one to another
Spirits sharing this common place
Elites just see us as ‘others’

Intention can reach a fever pitch
Hate externalized turns in
Resetting and changing the actors
A new world is about to begin

Our current world, a fiction
A Matrix, if you will
Providing context and structures
But waves and particles still

Actuality lives in possibility
Possibility must be observed
Through quantum non-locality
The uptake of discontinuity served

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
