Simple Cogitation

Patterns in the foreground
Might have a tale to tell
Whispering. . . Can you see it?
Proximity. . . outside the gates of hell

Within the Spirit of thoughtful giving
When another’s hand is closed
With resource not an issue
Just Selfish, I suppose

Reciprocation, perhaps just acknowledgment
Is it way too much to ask
Or is it life’s way of illumination
Or, do I need to take myself to task

Is it placed there as a demonstration
To reflect the path you need
Giving others credibility
They don’t need you, to succeed

So, is Selfishness really a virtue?
As Ayn Rand might confer
Becoming a beacon of confidence
Knowing others can also earn their worth?

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
