Stepping Stone Soul Mate

A ‘Stepping Stone Soul Mate
Protecting his sole
Wants to evolve
A lustful goal

Drawing forth resource
Extortion in play
Looking for love
In whatever way

Standards, however
No harm meant to bear
Brought into a home
With little to share

Early beginnings
Fruition of growth
Dismissed and distained
Whose power was mote

Learned by defense
To shoot before shot
Casting aspersions
Part of his lot

The ages of pages
Brings his ego a boost
A pretty young thing
Comfy to roost

Beneath the umbrella
In happy accord
Discovering herself
Bringing Self forward

Made choices her GOD
To pull her ahead
Now lost in his love
Lost in his bed

A man with a plan
Unable to see
An undying devotion
To wanting to BE

To BE, yet accepted
By a mother’s love
Set him on journey
For something above

A man of passion
Ever so willing to share
Finding his passage
Not lost in what’s fair

Living a life
Behind the façade
That his judgments are harmless
Which is normal, not odd

We’ve been given the notion
We’re just sand on the beach
A grain lost in the shuffle
Out of touch, out of reach

Others who know
Use us as pawns
Wherein knowledge is power
To help us move on

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
