The Alienated Self

by | Apr 6, 2021 | Philosophy

Divide and conquer, the method
In the Bible from the start
Eve, there in the Garden
Broke poor Adams hear

The Legend holds as true
The apple broke the deal
‘Tween God and the First couple
A wound that just won’t heal

King James it was that authorized
A collection of the books
Fall short within that given frame
Find your ‘booty’ on a hook

The serpent. . . as the story goes
Spun young Eve a line
Telling her how smart she’d be
If God’s word denied

Man created in God’s image
Yet simultaneously out of touch
Twisting in the wind
Deserving of not much

How depressing and quite dismal
To base your worth upon. . .
A story of separation
Just someone else’s pawn

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
