The Call of Differences

by | Apr 5, 2021 | Philosophy

When I look into the lives
Of others who live
Mundane and insignificant
The thoughts my mind gives

Decisions and choices,
Seem only a few
Compared to some others
With what they must do

The value of knowing
Of life’s multiple tract …
Comparing oranges to apples
As a matter of fact

Some lives create ballast
Holding traditions in check
Others reach for the stars
And risk their own neck

What is the difference
The difference between
A life of contentment
Silent, unseen

Or, that of another
Who must find a way
Where adventure’s a drug
They confront. .. every day

Being still or Being busy
Not at issue, I think
Just learning of ‘Being’
Perhaps needs learning at length

The complication,
Of that of another
Has little appeal
Not found in my druthers

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
