The Need to be There

by | Apr 4, 2021 | Philosophy

“Dear God, protect and guide me”
An echo from each pew
Ignoring chance encounters
In what we’re going through

The rubber on the road, it seems
Out of God’s prevue
An accident of happenstance
Not a mirror to look into

“Why does God forsake me?”
In this moment of distress
Not, “What am I to learn here?”
What secret toward success?

We ask, but then deny
The occasion that’s at hand
Lost in the illusions
Will we ever understand

Each moment holds its medicine
Capable of relief
Experience and observation
Can conquer old beliefs

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
