I guess Google could have answered
What I’d asked of you:
Secular Humanism, what’s that?
I haven’t got a clue
Eventually I went there
That is, Google, don’t you see?
To better understand
What you wrote to me
I’m clear that I don’t know
Like all of us, I guess
Lost inside our personal’ truths’
As ignorant as it gets
The width and breadth of belief
Has surfaced over time
From inside experience
Within this life of mine
Perhaps true for most of us
Extrapolation at the door
Experience leads to our conclusions
We do or don’t explore
My life, a simple journey
From first until the now
Am I affected by, or affect it?
If either, tell me how?
Perhaps a relativistic view
Excusing all my ‘sins’
Writing ‘activities’, as learning tools
Just letting knowledge in
Where does compassion enter
In an atheistic view
‘Securing’ life’s fulfillment
Is all we have to do? . . .
My life has been a treadmill
Looking in and viewing out
Observing or creating?
What’s it all about?
Is there life beyond this place?
Definitive answers don’t exist
I say, “We’re born to die”
Don’t get ‘them’ in a twist (*1)
I’ve traveled many pathways
And like everyone before
Collecting data on the roadway
Tryin’ to keep score
The life I’ve lived convinced me
There is something else at hand
Concluding it’s just energy
Within the expression of each man
A Barber and a Stylist
Not an executive or King
Cutting, curling, perming
Getting paid between
Fifty plus years’ experience
Touching every head
Wherein energy transfers
Provides the basis of what I’ve said
I’m right? I’m wrong? I don’t know
Conjecture is my strength
Providing meaning where it’s absent
Satisfied at length
An Empath is my claim
Absorbing what’s around
Turbulence and chaos
Moving in without a sound
An advocate of science not
Not in these current days
Narcissists seem fund it
Opportunists get their way
Quantum Physics born just yesterday
Atom smashing was the goal
Breaking it to its finite parts
Birthed the force or soul
The scientists or auditors
At long-last could not agree
Threatening verification. . .
Scientific veracity
Eventually conjecture ‘rose
Explaining what occurred
The bias upon entry
The suggestion seemed preferred
So, the energy of consciousness
With proclivities at hand
Helped to introduce the outcome
What they came to understand
Consciousness became a force
Proven in this way
But known, so very long ago
A theory now to stay
I say was known so long ago
As in the influence of the ‘said’
Witches, spells and language
An era that is dead
Legacy media in this current phase
Piped into every home
Spewing propaganda
Toward consciousness on loan
People watch and pay
From their comfort chairs
Innocent in their ignorance
Complicity is the ‘Bill of Fare’
Is this true? Is it not?
Conclusions and conjecture
Hidden within the Matrix?
Of nothing am I sure. .
