Where Are We in Life’s Patterns?

Thought, an energy
With the power to create
Man, in God’s image
Shares this trait

Hold that life is karmic?
A stand you take
An animus in judgment
Might be a mistake!

Reciprocation means return
In equal parts again
Good or evil as measured. . .
Enemy or friend. . .

Wherefore is forgiveness
In this muddled frame?
It’s the proper noun of God
That gets the blame

As ego’s we justify
Finding meaning that’s not
Philosophers in search of
The structure we’ve brought

Before you seek out ‘givens’ *
Search them well for truth
For the power of the structure
May be constructed in youth

*a ‘given’ in this case means something that goes without saying.

Linda Brady

Grandma Linda is a squigily peg in a square hole. Her poetry is aimed at moving the world to love, unity and perfect margaritas. And after years of perfecting the art, she has the skill to paint a better world and make it so.

When she is not serving customers, gazing at rocks, or visiting her grandchildren Linda is writing poetry. And even during all the above activities she has been known to write still.
